Job Overview:

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for assisting in the processing of company payroll and corporate time and attendance. The Payroll Administrator will report to the Payroll Manager and will assist with the development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed. The Payroll Administrator will help with governmental reporting and compliance, and preparation of statistical reports. The position requires someone who is a self-starter and can research, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll discrepancies.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare multi-entity payroll and enter pay information needed for bi-weekly and off-cycle processing, including timesheet imports, datasets, and discretionary pay for 1300+ employees
  • Maintain and organize payroll records including reports and logs.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting.
  • Review timesheets to ensure their validity and work with Managers to ensure they are reviewed and approved on time.
  • Provide assistance to employees with missing time punches as well as any employee related concerns with paycheck discrepancies.
  • Work with Human Resources to address any compensation related concerns.
  • Ensure benefit deductions are accurate.
  • Log and mail hard copy paychecks.
  • Prepare various reports for other departments as requested and submit payroll information to other agencies such as worker’s comp and 401k.
  • Provides assistance to employees with navigation of the Employee Self Service App.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience calculating and processing in-house payroll for a company of 500+ employees.
  • Prior experience with big HR/Payroll ERP, time, and general ledger systems.
  • Base knowledge of applicable Federal and State HR/Payroll Laws (FMLA, FLSA, e.g.) and IRS regulations that impact payroll
  • Advanced Excel skills a must.
  • Knowledge of PrimePay/SyncHR a plus.
  • Must be detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to adjust and/or create processes that will increase efficiency.
  • High school diploma.
