Job Position: Senior Director of Credentialing

The Sr. Director of Credentialing is responsible for leading and overseeing the administration of credentialing and provider enrollment services throughout our practice network.  In this role, the Sr. Director will oversee strategic development, direction, and implementation of the provider network strategies to support growth and performance. The Sr. Director role ensures a robust, high-performing compliant provider network is maintained to provider access and quality care to our patients across the network. The Sr. Director of Credentialing will have responsibility for Network Development & Contracting, Credentialing and Network Management.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as primary point of contact for Credentialing to organization leadership, ensuring the promotion of, and adherence to, credentialing best practices.
  • Oversees credentialing function, ensuring all provider enrollments, renewals, and state expansions are completed accurately, and on time.
  • Maintains and enforces credentialing policies and procedures aligned with federal, state, and payer regulations.
  • Develops relationships with providers and external partners to ensure streamlined processing of all Credentialing workflows.
  • Liaises with external stakeholders to ensure Rendr is consistently compliant while also providing a voice to the organization at large to these various regulatory bodies.
  • Oversees audits and ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of both delegated and non-delegated credentialing end-to-end processes.
  • Working in collaboration with the Director of Credentialing, fosters and improves internal relationships to ensure internal stakeholders have access to current credentialing information.
  • Aligns Credentialing team efforts with that of the rest of the organization; disseminates relevant information throughout the organization to ensure best practices.
  • Supports the credentialing committee and provides leadership with all committee activities.
  • Oversees the creation and delivery of training sessions for medical staff members on credentialing, privileging, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains relationships with payors, ensuring healthy contact between the organization and the payor.
  • Facilitates collaboration with RCM on credentialing and enrollment related claims projects and denials.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of credentialing experience, including 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading credentialing across all provider types.
  • Strong expertise in compliance, provider enrollment, and onboarding processes.
  • Detailed understanding of Medicaid / Medicare / NYS and Managed Care Plan regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of credentialing principles, industry regulations, state and deferral law, and accreditation standards
  • Ability to multi-task and align priorities accordingly
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills
  • Clear and impactful written and verbal communication skills
  • Goal driven with a firm understanding of credentialing department OKRs/KPIs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with credentialing platforms and related software
