Job Overview:

The Vice President, Information Technology (VP IT) is responsible for IT strategy and the management of infrastructure, network, telecom, security, system administration, and IT helpdesk operations. The VP IT directs and manages IT plans, schedules, policies, and programs for Rendr’s network communications, business operations, computer services and management information systems, according to established goals and objectives. The role ensures maximum uptime and stability in our computer systems and networks. The VP IT is responsible for identifying emerging information technologies to be analyzed, assimilated and integrated within the organization, and for oversight of the development of mission-critical IT systems and technology to support Rendr’s long-term goals.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the technology systems for Rendr.
  • Execute against the technology strategy, with effective communication and collaboration across the business. Ensuring systems and procedures lead to outcomes in line with the business goals.
  • Establish and maintain IT policies and standards while providing day-to-day leadership and direction for the IT team including training, motivating, developing, and delegating.
  • Evaluate team and vendor skill sets and proficiencies against those needed to accomplish the strategic plan and adjust the team as needed, identifying, onboarding, and training top talent when appropriate.
  • Manage initiative prioritization and resource allocation, project timelines, and the technology budgets to execute on plan, meet key milestones, and ensure systems are well maintained.
  • Ensure the technology support team meets the needs of the business and is equipped with the appropriate tools, metrics, and skill sets.
  • Build strong relationships across the business, and work with business counterparts to understand a wide variety of enterprise needs from a technological perspective.
  • Collaborate with business teams to successfully integrate new clinical offices as acquisitions occur.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement standards, quality control procedures, security strategy, vendor management, project management and procedures to ensure that all information technologies comply with mandated and regulatory standards, including cyber security and HIPPA requirements.
  • Manage Cloud Infrastructure.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced technical degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years in technology leadership roles, with a history of leading teams to deliver scalable and innovative solutions.
  • 5+ years of healthcare technology experience, with a deep understanding of healthcare systems, and regulatory standards.
  • Experience managing technology vendors and driving vendor negotiations.
  • Proven experience managing and building technology roadmaps that align with business goals.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare workflows with the ability to translate clinical needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience managing IT support teams.
  • Experience with Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) Implementations.
  • Strong understanding of AI tools, implementing AI resources and launching pilot programs.
  • Experience managing Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Data Lake and Data Warehouse concepts.
  • Deep knowledge of MSO365.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security, preferably experience with a standard security methodology (e.g., NIST), and HIPAA security requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating cross-functional teams, collaborating with clinical and operational stakeholders, and articulating technical visions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven history of managing, building, and retaining high performing technology teams.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare industry and the business environment at large, with a focus on keeping up to date with local and national trends.
  • Chinese language skills are a plus but are not required.
