Job Overview:

Initially reporting into the Operations Director, the role of the Site Medical Records Assistant will eventually be managed by the Office Manager. Working as part of the administrative team within a multisite practice, the Site Medical Records Assistant will serve as the primary point of contact in gathering all past medical history within the Electronic Medical Records system (EMR). The Site Medical Records Assistant will see to the creation of each patient’s record within the EMR as well as the attachment of all relative past medical history data within the system, eventually becoming the subject matter expert on the process for the practice, ensuring all patient records are tracked, updated, and up-to-date. This role plays a key role in the Revenue Cycle Management function of the practice.

Essential Functions:

  • Organizes, files, and retrieves patient medical records.
  • Performs data entry, file maintenance, and other clerical processes.
  • Ensures the privacy and security of all patient records.
  • Follows established policies and procedures to ensure effective and compliant record management.
  • May fulfill information requests for retrieval and printing of medical records from storage or archives.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent, required.
  • One or more years of experience, preferred.
  • EMR experience strongly, preferred. (ECW/MDLand)
  • Excellent typing/computer skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • English language required
